Abstract
The Catalan Arthroplasty Register (RACat, from its acronym in Catalan) is a population-based
register designed to assess the clinical effectiveness of hip and knee arthroplasties in Catalonia. The objective of this report is to present the results of the information sent to the RACat corresponding to the 2005-2010 period, in terms of quality of the data, characteristics of the operated patients, types of surgical procedures, prosthesis used, and patient survival at 1 year and at mid-term up to 4 years after surgery. Factors relating to a better/worse prognosis of primary arthroplasties of knee and hip arthroplasties are also included in this report.
