Pegats de capsaïcina 8%: tractament del dolor neuropàtic perifèric en adults, sol o en combinació amb altres medicaments per al dolor
Abstract
Capsaicin patches have shown a moderate reduction in pain, with modest differences with respect to placebo, in patients who also received other pain medications. According to the available evidence, they are not considered a treatment of choice for peripheral neuropathic pain. However, its use can be adequate in patients who do not tolerate or do not respond to conventional oral treatments. Given the risk of local adverse reactions and the complexity of the application procedure, they must be administered by doctors or healthcare professionals under medical supervision. PHFAPC recommends that capsaicin patches be prescribed and administered by pain units.
