Abstract
This document is the second of a series prepared by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Action, the Department of Health and the Catalan Food Safety Agency. Animals can be treated throughout their productive life with chemical substances to prevent or cure diseases. In the case of food-producing animals for human consumption, this can lead to the appearance of residues of these substances in foods derived from them, such as meat, milk, eggs, etc. These levels of waste, however, can not be in any way harmful to the health of consumers. That's why the necessary investigations must be carried out in order to control the proper use of substances in fattening or the treatment of Food-producing animals for human consumption. The objective of the document is to inform about the control of waste and contaminating products in live animals and animal products, and therefore does not incorporate information on pesticide products in plant products that are the object of another document and other regulations of the same application.
