Abstract
This monograph on metal in prosthetic surgery offers us an overview of the current situation and state of the same, as well as possible future scenarios of metallurgy that make reading almost mandatory for all prosthetic surgeons, in order to know a little better the material with which we work daily in our operating theaters. The objective of this monographic publication is to promote interest in biomaterials, especially among health professionals, and more specifically among orthopedists, given the important role they play in the results of arthroplasty interventions performed, and on the other hand, the current research in new biomaterials and nanotechnologies associated with molecular and cellular biology that should be decisive in the design of future implants.
