Abstract
Slow-acting drugs on the symptoms of osteoarthritis or SYSADOA (from the acronym in
English, SYmptomatic Slow Action Drugs for OsteoArthritis) are glucosamine (a
aminomonosaccharide, in the form of sulphate or hydrochloride), chondroitin sulphate (a glycosaminoglycan) and diacerein (a product related to anthraquinones). They are
authorized and used as a treatment for the relief of symptoms of mild and moderate osteoarthritis.
