e-Visió: Una nova app de cribratge visual per millorar la qualitat assistencial de la unitat d’Oftalmologia
Abstract
A new app called eVisio® has been designed to provide a reliable visual assessment based on visual acuity tests, among others. The evaluation of the application includes a final recommendation to the patient based on whether he should visit the optometrist, the ophthalmologist, or if he is correct and does not need to make a visit. The aim of the study is to validate the app to integrate its use in the clinical care practice of the optometry unit. After doing a statistical validation with a total sample of 543 participants, separated by age groups, it is concluded that eVisio® is a reliable application for visual detection without expert supervision. High sensitivity and high concordance with optometric analysis was achieved. This application will increase the efficiency of specialist services that refer patients to ophthalmologist services by avoiding unnecessary visits and saving time and money.
