Alfabetització en salut a l'Alt Empordà [2023]
Abstract
Health literacy is essential to the well-being of the person and the minors who depend on them, and the approach to pediatric care. There are many conditions to consider depending on the group that you want to analyze, with knowledge and access to different resources. In order to ascertain the level of HL in 2023 among young adults in the Alt Empordà and to initiate measures to rectify any deficiencies, interviews were conducted using a validated HL questionnaire (HLS-EU- Q169.10) with parents of babies undergoing a routine birth process at the county hospital, utilizing a representative and opportunistic sample. 136 cases were analyzed. In 39.7% of cases, the level of HL is insufficient (inadequate and problematic) and in 60.3% sufficient. No disparities were observed based on age, occupation, income level, or grouped nationalities. There are only significant differences in AS according to the educational status.
