Inhibidors de la bomba de protons i dèficit de vitamina B12
Abstract
This report analyzes the increase in the consumption of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and their relationship with vitamin B12 deficiency. In this context, the proposed hypothesis is as follows: on the one hand, a higher prevalence of PPI use should be observed among patients receiving treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), anticoagulants, antiplatelets, or corticosteroids. On the other hand, if PPIs increase the risk of vitamin B12 deficiency, a higher incidence of new treatments with vitamin B12 should be recorded in the following months.
