Situació epidemiològica de l’hepatitis A: Catalunya, 2022-2024
Abstract
Hepatitis A is a liver disease caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). It is mainly transmitted when an uninfected (and unvaccinated) person eats food and drinks water contaminated by the feces of a person infected with the virus. During the years 2022-2024, 164 cases of hepatitis A were reported in Catalonia, 98.1% (161 cases) of which were confirmed by laboratory and 1 by epidemiological link, with one of the cases classified as probable and 1 as suspected. The report analyses the cases.
