Análisis de los niveles de triaje y la adecuación del tiempo de espera en un servicio de urgencias
Abstract
To understand the adequacy of care times based on the assigned triage level in the Emergency Department of Figueres Hospital, a retrospective observational study was conducted using anonymized reports of Emergency Department activity during 2023. The number of emergencies, triage level, waiting times until nursing and medical attention, as well as the adequacy of waiting times with the standards of the Spanish Triage System (SET) were analyzed. The analysis showed that the number of annual emergencies in our center is very high, with a daily average of 224 cases. Less than a third of the emergencies attended corresponded to levels 1, 2, and 3. The average waiting time until medical attention remained within the standards established by the SET, although patients with levels 2 presented less adequacy.
