Although it is not the drug most frequently involved in poisonings in the pediatric population, iron is included in the list of highly toxic medications in childhood due to its potential to cause severe or fatal intoxications. We present two cases of acute oral iron poisoning in patients of different ages, which required the administration of deferoxamine as an antidote.
