Vigilància epidemiològica de la infecció pel VIH i la sida i de les infeccions de transmissió sexual a Catalunya: situació fins al 31 de desembre de 2013
Abstract
The aim of this report is to describe cases of HIV and AIDS as well as other sexually transmissible infections diagnosed
and reported in 2013. During this year, 754 HIV cases were reported (a rate of 10.4 cases
per 100,000 population), 856 infectious syphilis cases (a rate of 11.8 per 100,000 population), 988 gonorrhoea cases (a rate of 13.6 per 100,000 population), 66 Lymphogranuloma
venereum cases, 804 genital infection by Chlamydia trachomatis cases (a rate of 11 cases
per 100,000 population), 2,670 genital herpes cases (a rate of 37 per 100,000 population),
846 tricomona cases (a rate of 11.7 per 100,000 population) and 6,744 cases of genital wart
(a rate of 93 cases per 100,000 population). In the past 5 years, HIV diagnoses in Catalonia
has remained stable, while other STI trends continue to rise, in part by improved surveillance
systems but also for a real increase in the incidence of these infections
