Abstract
There are several tools to measure the impact or influence of a scientific publication, including systems for the quantitative assessment of the impact of a publication: citations, uses, presence on social networks. The growing consumption of metrics make necessary to consider the potential uses and limitations of indicators and metrics in different disciplines, as each discipline has its habits publication (articles and books) and citation.
There are other systems for the quantitative assessment of the impact of an academic text: the altmètriques, that analyze the content of the social web to provide additional metrics for the dissemination of scientific publications. All metrics least complementary to consider within this new ecosystem so diverse.
