Abstract
Systematic reviews of clinical trials indicate that in children and adolescents the efficacy of antidepressants is doubtful or invalid, which increases the risk of ideation and attempted suicide, as well as other neuropsychiatric disorders. However, these drugs are still prescribed to children and young people. The only authorized antidepressants in children and adolescents are fluoxetine (for depression), sertraline (for obsessive-compulsive disorder), and imipramine, nortriptyline and clomipramine (for nocturnal enuresis)
