Abstract
The Catalan Arthroplasty Register (RACat, for its acronym in Catalan) is a population-based register designed to assess the clinical effectiveness of hip and knee arthroplasties in Catalonia. The objectives of this report are 1) to present the results corresponding to the period 2005-2014, in terms of volume, completness and quality of the information, as well as the temporary evolution of the arthroplasties and the variability per centre; 2) to describe the characteristics of patients undergoing a knee or hip arthroplasty, along with fixation techniques, models, and
characteristics of the implants; and 3) to analyse the survival of knee and hip prosthesis in the short(at 1 year), mid- (at 5 years), and long-term (at 9 years).
