Abstract
This report indicates that the annual incidence of intracranial haemorrhage (ICH) in Catalonia is 491 cases per million inhabitants. Taking oral anticoagulants increases the risk by 10 times. The main risk factors for ICH in treated patients are age, arterial hypertension and a history of cerebrovascular accident, in addition to the intensity of the anticoagulant effect.
