Abstract
This study focuses on the risk of serious bleeding from oral anticoagulants (ACO) and antiplatelet agents (AAP) is particularly high with combined treatments. The most frequent serious hemorrhages are gastrointestinal and intracerebral. The benefit-risk relationship of ACO treatment in patients aged ≥ 80 years in routine clinical practice is not clear. In addition, the use of certain drugs in patients taking anticoagulants can cause drug interactions with serious results.
