Abstract
Tertiarism means a set of highly specialized services that entail a very high technological requirement and professional expertise, usually at a high cost, and which, given its low prevalence and high complexity, benefit from the concentration in a small number of suppliers That is why, unlike other public health services, tertiarism planning must be carried out in a national and non-regional framework. On the other hand, high-complexity treatments associated with tertiary procedures also have a set of characteristics that make them require specific management.
