Abstract
Plague is a zoonosis produced by the bacterium Yersinia pestis that affects, especially, small animals and their fleas, but it can also infect humans and other mammals. The transmission between animals and humans is done by the sting of infected fleas, direct contact and inhalation or, moreover, ingestion of infective materials. Human plague can be very serious, with a lethal rate of 30% to 60% if it is not. Information is provided on what measures and actions they take before a diagnosis of plague.
