This year's commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the death of Cervantes and Shakespeare is undoubtedly an excellent opportunity to reflect on the great changes in the conception of human beings that have taken place in our society at this time. And one of the most significant changes has to do with the conception of madness. A central element of any conception of the human being is his contact with reality, how he interprets the world. From the perspective of Cervantes and Shakespeare, madness was part of human nature, it was an inseparable reality to our human condition. In the words of Foucault, madness for these authors was "an integral human phenomenon" could not understand human beings, not understanding his madness. Today, 400 years later, the madness is for official psychiatry, an absurd brain noise. And this vision has moved public opinion through powerful media.
