Criança i educació positiva i saludable en un entorn de diversitat cultural: Projecte experimental
Abstract
Parenting is a key process in child development, as it influences physical and emotional health, social relationships, and the child’s future opportunities. Families play a fundamental role in this process, but various factors can hinder healthy parenting.
To address this and promote the foundations of positive and healthy parenting, a health and social intervention was established in the school environment, led by families themselves. Training sessions were held by families in different schools across Figueres. A team composed of a pediatric nurse, a psychologist, and intercultural mediators addressed topics such as emotional management, healthy eating habits, physical activity, positive communication, responsible use of new technologies, and respect for family diversity. The sessions combined group dynamics with spaces for reflection and evaluation. Eleven schools in Figueres participated. In total, 161 people attended at least one session, 92% of whom were mothers. 42% of participants and 91% of schools responded to evaluation surveys, showing a high level of satisfaction. 79% (n=42) reported having implemented changes in healthy habits and communication as a result of the sessions. This type of initiative is well received and generates positive impacts.
