Abstract
The Acute Respiratory Infections Surveillance Plan (PIDIRAC) has included the monitoring of hospitalized serious cases during the 2011-2012 season that allows, during the winter season (from the 40th to the 20th week), information from the Sentinel hospitals about the level of activity presented by both influenza viruses that due to their seriousness require hospitalization. With the experience of previous seasons, the Sentinel Surveillance Strategy has been elaborated on the serious cases caused by influenza infection during the 2017-2018 season in order to have information regarding distribution by age groups, risk factors , vaccine data and other relevant information about cases hospitalized for the seasonal flu virus
